As Chief of Staff, Michele plays a cross-team role that supports organizational and departmental planning, as well as processes that lead to overall organizational excellence. As a member of the Leadership Team, Michele partners with staff to ensure alignment across mission, strategy, and execution at all levels of the organization. She also provides strategic guidance and support to Seattle Foundation’s CEO to assist the foundation in reaching its goals. Lastly, she leads Seattle Foundation in developing and defining our approach to global philanthropy.
Michele comes to SeaFdn from our key partner on global philanthropy, Seattle International Foundation (SIF). During her tenure with SIF, Michele launched new initiatives and led their grantmaking strategy, including oversight of over $17 million in grants to more than 180 nonprofits organizations in 68 countries. Prior to joining SIF, Michele worked as a Research Analyst for the Technology and Social Change Group at the University of Washington conducting field research on Microsoft Community Affair’s social investments in marginalized communities throughout Latin America. She is a graduate of the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies, and both an American Express NGen Fellow and Henry M. Jackson Leadership Fellow. She currently serves on the Seattle Women’s Commission and is a board member of Splash.
