Margot is a senior advisor to the Education practice of Parthenon-EY. She has worked for more than 20 years on issues of education policy and practice in the public education sector. Previously, Margot served as chief of staff to US Education Secretary, Arne Duncan. From 2004 to 2009, Margot served in multiple roles at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, including deputy director of Education and special assistant to the director of Education. She began her career as a legal services attorney at the Center for Law and Education. She has served on numerous education-related boards and advisory commissions. She is currently on the board of directors for The Joyce Foundation, a member of the review board for the Broad Prize for Public Charter Schools, and a Leap of Reason Ambassador. Margot holds a BA from Emory University, where she was a Truman Scholar, and a JD and an MA from the University of Virginia. She is a member of the bar in Washington, DC.
