Jatrice Martel Gaiter serves as executive vice president of external affairs for Volunteers of America.

Prior to joining VOA, Ms. Gaiter was president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., Executive Director of SOS Children’s Villages, and held executive positions at Michigan State University, United Way National Headquarters, and United Way in Central Indiana and Dade County, Florida.

She is currently vice chair of the board of the National Human Services Assembly, a member of the Generations United board, the Metro Stage board, the Independent Sector Public Policy Committee, the Nonprofit Roundtable’s Advisory Council, the University of Maryland’s College of Behavioral and Social Sciences Alumni Chapter Board, Leadership Washington, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Public Relations Society of America and the National Press Club.

Ms. Gaiter has a bachelor’s degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland and a Juris Doctorate from the Syracuse University College of Law.
